A COVID19 Update from our Director; Steve Frentz
As you can imagine, the Torchbearers Yamanakako ministry has been deeply impacted by the Coronavirus Pandemic. We also had to officially cancel our Spring Bible School that was set to start at the end of May and many of our summer groups have been forced to cancel their stay. We had a lot planned for the 2020 program. Spring Bible School is a fun and rewarding time where we get to dive deep into God’s Word, together with likeminded souls, in our beautiful location here at the base of Mt. Fuji. We are always in awe of the way that lives are changed as a result of Christ’s indwelling work amongst our staff and students over the years.
As restrictions ease in Japan and people are permitted to move around more freely, we look forward to welcoming guests to the Centre once again. As always it is our utmost priority to create a safe, comfortable environment. In order to ensure the safety of our guests during the summer months, we have created special customer care policies. Please see the attached documents explaining these enhanced service procedures and guidelines.
We also understand that some groups may need to cancel their summer bookings due to the coronavirus situation. Because of that we have also created a special Coronavirus Cancelation policy. If you need to cancel your upcoming booking, and would like to rebook for another date in the future, please feel free to contact our office.
In order to reduced contamination, we are happy to announce that we will be offering Deluxe Obento Meals. These beautiful, tasty packed meals are prepared in a restaurant kitchen by professional chefs. Obento-style dining will allow you the option of flexible seating for meals (so that you can spread out more or even eat outdoors if you wish) and will greatly minimize the handling of dining ware.
We deeply appreciate your support during this difficult time. Please consider donating to the Centre financially in order to ease the burden brought on by the COVID19 crisis.
We are typically a self-sustaining ministry and running an empty Center has left us in a very difficult financial situation. Our future is unknown. We need to raise ¥5,000,000 (Approximately $50,000 USD) in order to sustain the ministry until Spring of 2022 when we project to be back to full guests numbers and be able to run Bible School again . Please partner with us to help prevent the Torchbearers Yamanakako Christian ministry Center from permanently shutting down.

BIBLE SCHOOL: COVID related travel bans and lock downs forced made offering the 2020 Spring Bible School program. We had to officially cancel our Spring Bible School that was set to start at the end of May. We had a lot planned for the 2020 program. Apply for the Spring 2021 with assurance of being eligible for a full deposit reimbursement if travel bans or COVID related realities make it impossible for you to come to Bible School.
