Steve & Jennifer Frentz

The directing couple at Torchbearers Yamanakako, Steve and Jennifer Frentz, share a passion for seeing people come to trust God fully. Having both lived in Japan in the past, they are excited to be back living in Japan as part of the Torchbearers Yamanakako family. Both Steve and Jen have a special place in their hearts for the Bible School ministry as they both graduated from Capernwray Harbour Bible Center in Canada. Both of them came away from their Bible School experiences challenged, humbled, and knowing the Lord Jesus more intimately than ever before. That year changed the path of their lives.

Before moving to Japan to serve at Torchbearers Yamanakako, Steve was self-employed as a journeyman carpenter with a particular interest in building custom furniture and doing custom renovations. Jen worked for an airline in the learning and development department, specializing in corporate leadership development, change management, and instructional design. In his spare moments, Steve takes time to read a good classic, practice his guitar, exercise, or go on a motorcycle camping trip. On her time off, Jen can be found in the kitchen enjoying a love for cooking. Both Jen & Steve especially love spending time with their girls and can often be found at a playground, on a bike ride, down at the lake, or just relaxing at the swings on their day off!
